Show & Venue Information

After performances earlier this year at Kingston’s Rose Theatre, Captain Corelli’s Mandolin will transfer to the Harold Pinter Theatre. A wartime story written in 1994, join Captain Corelli, Dr Iannis and his daughter Pelagia, as romance blossoms at a time of global political upheaval. So, if you’re looking to see a West End production this summer that’s been told in book, on screen and now on stage, you’ll want to see Captain Corelli’s Mandolin.

Set in Cephalonia, to the West of Greece, Captain Corelli is posted to the island as part of the occupying force. Ostracised by the local community, he’s later accepted once he shows his civilised, calm and contented nature. But, it’s when he’s thrown together with Pelagia that his self-preservation instinct has to kick in. Will the captain be able to serve with no consequences, or will the course of true love blossom in unruly circumstances?

Captain Corelli’s Mandolin is not the only production to transfer to the West End this year. Trafalgar Studios welcomes a variety of transferring shows including Education, Education, Education and The Fishermen. However, no play is sure to pull and pluck on your heartstrings like Captain Corelli’s Mandolin, playing for a limited engagement.
