Show & Venue Information

One of the most enticing revivals coming to London is Stephen Sondheim’s Company, as revamped by Marianne Elliot and Chris Harper of Elliot Harper Productions.

The show will join a whole host of stand-out West End musicals with a long and successful history when it returns to the capital, boasting a stellar cast and a revamped main character. All in all this should turn out to be one of the must-see shows of the West End when it opens at the Gielgud Theatre in 2018.

It is the latest occasion in which Company has returned to the stage, almost 50 years since it was first seen on Broadway in 1970, and this is a testament to both its enduring appeal and its unique structure.

The story is told in a series of vignettes as we explore the relationships of main character Bobbi, a single commitment-phobic woman (the gender swapped from the male main character in the 1970 original). During the short episodes we will see her interactions between various married friends as some wonderful songs play, including the likes of Getting Married Today and The Little Things You Do Together, amongst an array of others.

The cast includes Rosalie Craig, well known for a range of shows in the West End and at the National Theatre, as Bobbi alongside Broadway star Patti Lupone as Joanne. Their presence ensures that this will be one of the most talked about shows of 2018.

So look out for Company as it makes a welcome return to a London stage. It plays at the Gielgud Theatre in 2018.
