Show & Venue Information

Don’t “Close Every Door” just yet! Returning to the West End for a celebratory revival to mark the 50th anniversary, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat will bring the coat of many colours back with a vengeance. It’s still unknown who will play the leading role, but with Jason Donovan, Donny Osmond and Lee Mead having played the role previously, the incumbent Joseph has big boots to fill. So, if you want to see an old musical brought to the West End and be the part of the show’s celebration, head on down to the London Palladium to see Joseph.

The show starts way way back many centuries ago, meeting Jacob and his 12 sons. His favourite son has always been Joseph, which continues to anger the others. Pent up with jealousy, the other 11 sell Joseph to slavery. But, his gift of interpreting dreams turns into his saving grace as he finds himself standing alongside the Egyptian Pharaoh. His journey takes him to prison and into the heights of civilisation as he tries to right wrongs and do good.

Illuminating a religious tale, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat has featured dazzling costumes and memorable characters as well as that coat which is listed to have had 29 colours upon it. As part of an abundance of revivals coming to the West End including Mary Poppins and Evita, Joseph is sure to be an unmissable show for 2019, so make sure you’ve got your tickets to hear songs including “Close Every Door” and “Any Dream Will Do”.

The song “Any Dream Will Do” was voted Broadway song of the year in 1981 and is still regarded as a musical theatre classic.

Please note: Jason Donovan will not be performing on 13th July.
