The first play as part of Theatre Royal Stratford East’s new season, Our Lady of Kibeho looks at Rwanda capturing the world’s attention. In 1981 at Kibeho College in Rwanda, a young girl claims to have been visited by Virgin Mary who warned her of the unimaginable: Rwanda becoming hell on earth. Ignored by her friends and scolded by her school, she is only supported by another student who has also seen the vision. Will the impossible become true or will the pair be ousted forever?
